BANGKOK TRAVEL GUIDE

Bangkok was founded in 1782 by the first monarch of the present Chakri dynasty. It is now the country’s spiritual, cultural, diplomatic, commercial and educational hub.  It covers an area of more than 1500 sq km. and it is home to approximately 10 Million people or over 10% of the country’s population. Being the capital of Thailand, it offers to visitors not only the cosmopolitan amenities they would expect from other big cities, but also a unique treasure house of cultural attractions. For tourists, Bangkok has a feast of attractions to offer – glittering Buddhist temples of great beauty, magnificent palaces, classical dance extravaganzas, numerous shopping centres and its people’s way of life.

Golden Buddha Temple – Wat Trimits – housing a 5 and half tone of Solid Golden Buddha statue.

The Grand Palace & Emerald Buddha Temple: 08:30-12:00/ 13:30-16:30 hrs

The splendid Grand Palace enclosure is home to many ornate temples and buildings with a variety of architectural styles. Gold leaf, reflective tiling and Buddha images are to be seen everywhere. The magnificent Wat Pra Kaeo , a treasure house of Thai arts and home to the Emerald Buddha, Thailand’s most revered Buddha Image. But there is much else of interest  to be seen in the Grand Palace compound – The Pavilion of Regalia, Royal Decorations and Coins, where a permanent exhibition of royal regalia ,decorations, medals and coins dating back to the early 11th century are on display as well as The Throne Hall,

A fun place for all ages. With its breadth taking rides, to the beautiful Snow town, where one can experience real snow. Indian food is also served in the park.

Safari World and Marine Park – 08:30 – 15:30 hrs

Damnernsaduak floating Market –06:30 – 14:00hrs
80 Kms outside Bangkok, this is a fascinating trip to the countryside and villages. Visit the largest and most colorful floating market in Thailand.

About 30Km from Bangkok, enjoy a show of Elephants in Thai History – being captured, trained for various jobs – including playing football, dancing, and finally a grand ancient cavalry parade. This zoo also houses crocodiles.

River Kwai Day tour – 06:30 – 18:00hrs

A day trip to the famous Bridge on the River Kwai, 120 Km. west of Bangkok. Visit is also made to the World War 2 Cemetery and Death Museum. Thai Lunch is served in a Local Restaurant.

Damnernsaduak Floating Market + River Kwai Day Tours & Tiger Temple with lunch – 06:30 – 19:00hrs

Phi Phi Island

Emerald Pool

This hot spring originates from a warm stream in the lowland forest of Khao Nor Juji which is supposedly Thailand’s last piece of virgin and fertile forest. The intensity of the pools turquoise colored water varies according to the light and time of the day so visitors determined to see the real emerald color should plan to visit at dawn or early in the morning. The pool can be visited all year round.

Krabi Sunset Cruises
